Uploaded by: bjnesbitt
Video Description:
This project was created to inspire teachers to use technology in engaging ways to help students develop higher level thinking skills. Equally important, it serves to motivate district level leaders to provide teachers with the tools and training to do so.

Hey guys I ran across this great video while looking for information on CENNI. I thought it'd be good to share it with you all. It made me realize that many of us might be taking for granted our student's potential and how much we could actually rely on technology to make our classes more meaningful for them. We are working with children of the Technology era, so we can't continue to rely on old fashind approches. Best wishes for this school year. Roger.
To say China has more honor students than North American people? Prove it.
50% graduation rate in high school? Prove it.
Game 3.5 hours a week my ass? Prove it. (I bet it's more)
And some of the technology is not that limited. Why can't teachers send students homework reminders via text? Why can't a student ask a question in IM if the teacher is online anyway? What if you misunderstood the purpose of the homework? You can't tell me you've never done this.
It's so much easier to text, e-mail, or IM than to call a teacher.
I enjoy my access and use of technology. If it were more available at school, I can't help but think I will enjoy school more.
Whats wrong with the F being backward? I think it's their lame way of making the video seem kid like.
As for spelling, I hated it during elementary school. It was useless. I learned basic spelling through reading, not writing the same word over and over. My spelling is still horrible, but people can understand what I am trying to convey and that is most important. Theres spellcheck thesedays too.
They can let everyone use the internet at school without abuse.
"yeah okay, spelling right will help you from not looking like an asshole when you comment on the internet."
Well, so will GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION, and CAPITALIZATION.
Technology is great, in the hands of the right people. In our schools we're deleting teachers and adding AC to help cool down the electronics. Hooray for Technology!
